I graduated top of my class from Utrecht University with a research master in Methodology and Statistics.
Ready for the next challenge I am currently searching for the perfect PhD opportunity. With a background in Mathematics and Psychology I would like to pursue a career in academia promoting sound methodology and responsible scientific conduct.

Research Experience

Researcher in Training

Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC)

At the Department of Clinical Epidemiology I am currently doing meta-research on simulation studies for the evaluation of statistical methods. Focus of my work is the replicability and applicability of simulation studies. I am conducting a systematic review on the design and reporting practices of influencial simulation studies as well as proof of concepts replications of the same. The latter I am currently extending to an international collaboration project. replisims.org Supervisor: Rolf Groenwold

since January 2020

Research Intern

Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC)

At the Department of Clinical Epidemiology I have performed a simulation study assessing the predictive performance of risk prediction models derived by various binary logistic regression based techniques. Supervisor: Maarten van Smeden

September 2018 - September 2019

Graduate Research Assistant

Criminological Research Institute Lower Saxony (Hannover, Germany)

At the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony, I performed psychometric analyses, questionnaire validations, and various other statistical analyses. I co-authored several papers where I substantially contributed to data analysis and manuscript preparation. My tasks furthermore included questionnaire translations, extensive literature research and the recruitment of day care facilities and schools for participation in a prevention program.

April 2014 - December 2017

Student Research Intern

Hagen University

At the department for Psychological Methods, Diagnostics and Evaluation I was involved in a study on addictive behavior and personality correlates (literature research, preparation of online questionnaire, data analysis, manuscript preparation).
